GRANT APPLICATION GUIDELINES

The Bloedorn Foundation is a local foundation based in Fort Morgan, CO with principal interests in education, local school scholarship programs and charities. Generally, only non-profit organizations are eligible and preference is given to requests that benefit citizens of Morgan County, Colorado. The following should be included with any grant applications:

  • Cover letter summarizing the request, that includes:

    • Legal name and address of the organization,

    • Amount and purpose of the request, a summary of the budget for the project, and the expected results (be specific as to how the proposal will benefit the citizens of Morgan County, Colorado),

    • Description of how this program/project is different from similar organizations’ efforts,

    • List other sources and amounts of funding, and

    • Any additional information that will help the foundation trustees evaluate the request.

  • Digital copy of the most recent 501(c)(3) Internal Revenue Service designation letter (if applicable),

  • Digital copies of the most recent financial statements (audited if possible),

Non-Eligible Areas

The following areas generally are not eligible for funding:

  • Requests from individuals (no individual scholarship funding),

  • Requests for media productions, seminars, conferences, or travel related expenses, and

  • Funding to retire debt or deficits, endowment funding, fellowships, endowed chairs, etc.

Timeline

Because of the number of proposals reviewed at each foundation meeting, written presentations should be concise and any additional information should be very limited. Proposals should be received by March 15 for the foundation’s spring meeting, and by September 15 for the autumn meeting. Normally, only one application per calendar year will be reviewed. The foundation will not support programs, organizations, or institutions that discriminate on the basis of race, creed, or sex.

GRANT SUBMISSION TIMELINE

The Bloedorn Foundation reviews grant applications twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall. In order to be given maximum consideration please follow our application requirements and submit in time for the following:

Applications due September 15th for our fall meeting
