MORGAN COUNTY FAMILY CENTER

For over 25 years, the Morgan County Family Center (MCFC) has been fulfilling its mission of  Connecting Morgan County families with support and tools needed for successful living.  MCFC not only connects families to resources but also provides concrete support to families in need.  We provide thorough and updated information about available community resources; We support, recruit and connect families to appropriate childcare providers;  Our trained staff members advocate for families in need of services and walk with them as they develop a foundation for success; We offer health advocacy for those in need of medical stability, a safe stable home, or a nutritious meal plan; We build individual and community capacity through parent education and leadership programs.

Funds generously provided by the Bloedorn Foundation over the years have enabled the Family Center to successfully wrap services around families, no matter what they look like, so that parents and children have the opportunity to become self-sufficient and thrive.

EBEN EZER lutheran care center

The Bloedorn Foundation has been instrumental to various capital initiatives at Eben Ezer over the years.  Most recently the Foundation has been a major contributor towards the building redevelopment efforts on our campus. Eben Ezer's current focus is to rebuild the campus affording our residents' private rooms regardless of their pay source.  As needs in the community have changed, so has Eben Ezer.  Eben Ezer is the only full continuum of care provider of services for the older adult in northeast Colorado. With current reimbursement systems as they are and coupled with the demographics of our market, supporters of our mission from foundations like The Bloedorn Foundation is critical to our ability to continue to serve Northeast Colorado.

Morgan community college center for arts and community enrichment (CACE)

CACE brought the 101st Army Rock Band to Fort Morgan for the 2019 Veteran’s Day Celebration at Country Steak Out.

In 2010 Morgan Community College brought an idea to the local communities to form an outreach arm of the college that would allow college and community members to schedule cultural activities for interested residents.  In 2011 the Center for Arts and Community Enrichment (CACE) was launched with its first event, “If it Ain’t Baroque,” an organ recital in the historic All Saints Lutheran Church on the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center campus in Brush, Colorado.  This college and community collaborative effort continues to enhance art opportunities in the area.

The Bloedorn Foundation has been a continuous contributor to CACE.  The Farmers State Bank building, located at 300 Main Street, was donated by the Foundation to MCC in the early 1990’s.  It houses the office for CACE as well as the CACE Gallery of Fine Art.  Through the Bloedorn Foundation’s continuous support, CACE is successfully fulfilling its mission, “…to enhance the quality of lives in our community through artistic, cultural, social and intellectual activities.”  All CACE activities are free and open to the public.

Baby Bear Hugs mission: Enhancing family strengths for happy and healthy children, families and communities.

Baby Bear Hugs changes the lives of “soon to be” parents and families with infants and toddlers up to 3 years old in Eastern Colorado by providing parenting education, resources, and support. It is our goal that all children will become productive, happy adults who give back to their communities and that they will have every opportunity available to them to fulfill their potential, develop assets that empower them to resist failure, and have strong supportive adults in their lives. Our services are free and include ongoing visits as well as one-time supportive visits.

Since July 2019 we have reached 63 families with our various programs in Morgan County. In Morgan County we have completed 13 Ages and Stages Questionnaires so far this year to help parents assess where their children are developmentally.
